Soweto Soweto, South Africa7 DAY 6 NIGHT RETREAT IN THE BUSH OF AFRICA. Imagine waking up slowly and gently, with rays of the warm African sunshine peaking through the curtains… You lie there...
Providing meditation, mindfulness, and mental health services for lawyers, designed by Nicolle Kopping-Pavars, Transformational Coach, Barrister, Solicitor, and Mindfulness Teacher.
Lotus Law was created to empower lawyers like yourself in their stressful and demanding careers by:
How do I know you’re having these experiences? Because at the peak of my career in family law and having everything I could ever ask for, I still felt unfulfilled, empty, sad, and anxious.
I started noticing that I was constantly feeling guilty and overwhelmed. I never seemed to find a happy medium. This dark cloud kept following me and there was a constant inner voice that was never satisfied. I’d have thoughts like:
If this resonates with you, please allow me to take your hand and help you transform your life with my workshops, training, or one-on-one coaching.
Let me tell you a bit about myself and how I got to where I am.
I was admitted as a lawyer in South Africa in 1998 and worked for a law firm that helped champion the rights of single fathers. Compassionate Justice and kindness have always been my compass.
In 2001, we immigrated to Canada (me, my husband, a rambunctious 1 year old, two suitcases and $5,000).
Fast forward a few years, I had birthed three amazing children, I had created a successful law practice, I lived in a beautiful home on a ravine. I had everything I could ever ask for and yet I still felt like there was something fundamental missing.
My journey of courage started when I took a vulnerable leap of faith and admitted that I was struggling, and things just didn’t feel right.
Lo and behold, almost every person I spoke to said they understood exactly what I was talking about- they felt it too. They felt alone, lonely, overwhelmed, and scared.
Now, I knew that I had to find a solution. It wasn’t JUST ME!!!
I poured myself into my own personal self development journey.
I was coached by Bob Proctor (The Secret Guy), I attended webinars, courses, self help conferences and I started developing and adhering to my own a strong mindfulness and meditation practice. It’s called a practice because every day, every moment you take a seat, you start fresh and learn about yourself.
I took a year long course in Mindfulness and ultimately trained as a Mindfulness in Law teacher. I then furthered my studies when I went to Thailand for two weeks to study with the Monks in the Northern part of Thailand. I deepened my practice and teaching by completing a Mindfulness teacher training certification though the teachings of the Venerable Luang Por Pramote Pamojjo (Thailand) in December 2017.
In 2018, I created and established Lotus-Law to bring mindfulness and meditation to lawyers and the public at large. See my service page to see how I can help you!
In 2020, I rebranded myself as a lawyer and called myself the Transformational Lawyer. I bring energy work, personal development, and self discovery into the practice of law.
I conduct workshops on Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence both in North America and Southern Africa and continue to host meditation clinics for anyone who wants to learn how to meditate.
Through my own personal journey I have created a wonderful toolbox for my clients and students and now I want to share them with you!

"This course was the anchor I much needed to get back to critical self-care, without which I cannot well serve my clients or family. Nicolle’s mindfulness training provides busy lawyers with a plethora of brilliant, easy to implement and sanity saving tools, and she presents it all with vulnerability, grace and compassion that is a delight to experience.
I am so grateful for this invaluable work that Nicolle is doing for us as individuals and for the profession at large."”I recommend Nicolle’s mindfulness course to all lawyers who are challenged by life’s stresses, both at work and outside of work. Nicolle is very knowledgeable about mindfulness and has a genuine passion for the material she teaches. As a regular yoga practitioner and teacher, I started the course with some understanding of mindfulness.
I realized early in the course that I have so much more to learn. Nicolle provided practical and interactive examples of ways that we can integrate mindfulness into our day and provided us with tools to apply. I am using the tools regularly, professionally, and personally, and they are helping me to remain calm, cool, and collected in some very difficult and emotional situations.”
”I am a lawyer who lives a fast-paced life. I have never particularly enjoyed meditation of any kind. Nicolle has brought me on a journey of self-discovery where I now enjoy mindfulness meditations (but only if lead by her).
Her calm, yet active and playful personality appeals to me on a personal level. I would strongly encourage anyone considering a mindfulness practice to reach out to Nicolle Kopping-Pavars.”
”Nicolle offers us a better way and an alternate set of choices – encouraging each of us to observe what is going on in the present moment which leads to better decision making and self-awareness. To paying attention to our attention and noticing when our mind has wandered from, we should be doing.
Nicolle has made it her life’s work to help us understand how mindfulness protects us, helps us anticipate and understand what is happening in the moment and to remind us that mindfulness is the opposite of taking our ‘one-and-only life’ for granted…” .
”Nicolle’s devotion to the practice is apparent in her dedication and passion to the dharma. She embraces the studies wholeheartedly.
Over the course of the program, I watched her grow stronger and more dedicated to teaching her colleagues, the judiciary, and others. Now, she inspires me as she continues to bring these practices to practitioners all over the world. If you have the chance, treat yourself to some time with Nicolle. You won’t regret it! “
”I was a core teacher in the 2016 Mindfulness in Law Teacher Training, held at Green Gulch Zen Center in California. Nicolle was one of 20 attendees, and I was able to get to know her and her deep commitment to bringing mindfulness and compassion training to every facet of the law, and to see her excellent presentation skills.
I highly recommend Nicolle as a presenter, as a teacher, as a mentor, and as a person. “
”I have done meditations with Nicolle Kopping-Pavars for several years with great enjoyment. It was not until taking her Mindfulness Course that I came to truly understand how the journey that she led towards mindfulness brings about a keen self-awareness/discovery, an innate ability to be truly present and a noticeable reduction in stress in my practise and day to day life.
Throughout this course, I have felt a significant shift in how I connect to each moment and with Nicolle’s guidance and wisdom, I am on the road to peace. I am eternally grateful to Nicolle for her teaching and leadership and for helping me incorporate mindfulness into my life. “
